Camping

Yesterday we returned from a week long camping trip and it was loads of fun!  Last Friday we went with 2 other couples (and 2 singles joined us the next day) to East Pocket Lookout.  I highly recommend this area!  It is outside of Flagstaff at the end of a forest road on the Rim which overlooks Sedona and Cottonwood.  On the weekend we just hung out, chatted, rested and watched the kids have fun in the dirt.  :)  After the other peeps left, we went on a few short journeys and read Craig Parshall's latest book "End of Apocalypse."  One of the trips was to East Pocket Lookout tower where they have a volunteer watch for forest fires.  The 360 degree view was gorgeous!  The lady had worked there for 14 years so it was also very homey.  She has time to paint lots of birdhouses, etc.

However, by Wednesday Caleb was bored of the site (I could stay in one spot and read and nap forever).  He had the wonderful idea of heading to Oak Creek Canyon and camping the night there!  Although it was hotter there was water to play in!  Throughout the whole week Kale'a behaved very well and just soaked in the outdoors!  She is a true camper!... although it helped that we brought her play things!
Sunday, Father's Day, enjoying some time in the Word together

Before coming, the girls in the hats did not like to get dirty.  That obviously changed!

Putting together a bizillion chicken kabobs!

How many men does it take to fly a kite?

Caleb using the machete he got for Christmas!

Sedona is way down there behind us!

Mom, enough with this sunscreen!

Napping in style - oh, the rough life!

She loved it for about 5 minutes until she realized it was cold snow runoff water!

She is quite proficient at holding her bottle with one hand and foot with the other!

  2. So glad to see some new pics up! Feel like we haven't seen you guys in forever. Cooper and I are thoroughly enjoying the Resolved conference and having fun on our anniversary trip. We got a free book from it that you guys might like. Kale'a is adorable, as always. :-)
