We left Parker and headed to the mountains. Skirting around Denver, we decided to take the scenic route to our destination of Silverthorne. We stopped in the cute town of Georgetown for lunch at a fabulous park. The town was the beginning of our introduction into mining territory (back in the Gold Rush days). We began to climb significantly in elevation. Now, all the 14-ers (mountains over 14,000 ft high) that were far away we were passing very near and going over their passes.

| We hear the town of Silverton uses cannons to start avalanches. |
And we come to "house" #5 which was the whole stimulus for our trip - my 20 year high school reunion. We rented two big houses in Silverthorne (near Breckenridge), a ski resort town in the winter. No, I didn't go to school there. I graduated from a missionary kids boarding school in Ivory Coast, West Africa - so they just pick a random place whenever there is a reunion (last time it was in Tennessee). Out of a class of 26, ten of us showed up with our families or spouses. We had one classmate come from Holland and my good friend and her family from Australia (via Hong Kong). We had free time to go on walks, runs, shopping, relaxing, whatever. In the afternoon/evenings, we watched old videos, sang ICA songs, played games and generally reminisced and caught up with each other. I had a good time with my old friends and Caleb enjoyed getting to know the people from my past! I wish everyone lived closer but am grateful for the internet!
