Fun in the sun & babe update

This weekend was "sun" time.  Caleb and several of his buddies have been planning this big 3-day backpacking trip.  It is extra intense because it is a creek walking/swimming hike.  All their stuff has to be in dry bags and there is no way out except down the creek.  The first day was quite windy and chilly but it warmed up after that.  They saw several rattlers and Caleb got stung by a scorpion.  Fortunately everyone emerged uninjured other than many scrapes and bruises and sore muscles.  They had a good time of fellowship and man-time!  Meanwhile on the home front, Kale'a and I hosted Bible study on Friday, spent time with the wives & babies of the other guys on the trip on Saturday, vegged on Sunday and hung out with the cousins on Monday.  Here are a few pictures of the kids enjoying the sprinkler and pool in the warm weather.

On Monday we had our 36 week check up and ultrasound.  I think many of you have been praying about this pregnancy, particularly the delivery, and wisdom on how to handle this one.  I tore so badly with Kale'a that we don't want a repeat tear but also don't want to chicken out due to fear.  The ultrasound showed that our son is measuring in the 98%ile already and estimated to CURRENTLY be 8lb 3oz!  (which means an additional 2 pounds over the last 4 weeks)  The doctor also checked my tear area and it is only half as healed as needs to be.  So with the large baby and my weak heal-up, we are going avoid the recipe for disaster and will be opting for a c-section on June 18.  Thank you so much for your prayers during this time!  We greatly look forward to meeting our son!
