California or bust

We have been alternating holidays between the different sides of the family.  This year Thanksgiving was in California with Caleb's side.  His parents and middle brother and wife live there.  And his youngest brother and family came out the same time.

The evening before the morning we were to leave for CA, Caleb comes home from work and says "Want to leave tonight?  Like in 2 hours?"  Oh my, yikes!  Like a good wife, I said sure as long as we were willing to stop in a hotel if needed.  I must say it was the quickest, quietest drive to CA I have ever been on!  We made it in 7.5 hours (last year was 11)!  The kids slept most of the way and when they were awake were super cheerful.  The next day was very sleepy for me and Caleb but it was worth it...I think.  Actually, the drive back was during the day and the kids were pretty calm then too but it did take more like 10 hours.

We had a lot of fun and the kids did very well overall.  They found some of Daddy's old childhood toys like Batmans, micro-machines and various Legos.  And of course, Chad and Sarah's uber-toy corner of their house!

Oh my, the coloring madness folders!

The wives...the sisters-in-laws

The husbands...the brothers

We went to a children's museum in Escondido.  The kids loved it!  It was fun to see who enjoyed which activity the best.
All the kids enjoyed the wind tunnel

Legos and water...meh, we have that at home.

Titus spent nearly his whole time there with this ball-rolling-track

And, of course, we HAD to go to the beach! :)
