It is with
great joy that that we welcome our early Christmas gift: Ryker Azariah Lanting. He was born 12/20/13 at 8:06am. 9lb 6oz, 21.5" long.
Ryker is Dutch meaning "strong
leader". Azariah means "helped
by God" (Hebrew). In the Bible,
Azariah (aka Abednego) stood strong in his faith, refusing to worship anything
but the true God. The king threw Azariah
and his friends into a giant fire but God miraculously saved them. As a result
the king feared God and made Azariah a strong leader in Babylon.
The birth of
our son reminds us that this is the time of year we celebrate another infant who
came into the world, the Son of God. We
remember that, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only
Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life, and
that, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”
So this year
we are doubly blessed. We hope that you
and your family are as well.
