I heard on the radio a new song by Colbie Caillat called "Christmas in the Sand" that is definitely geared toward those in SoCal or Hawaii (or those sick of songs about snow). It's kind of cheesy but catchy and I kept thinking of it while we were on our vacation. This year we spent our Christmas week with Caleb's parents who live outside of San Diego. This was our first time celebrating Christmas with them - it was certainly much less chaotic but still fun. It rained quite a bit but was sunny enough one day for us to visit the beach. It was Kale'a's (well, and Titus') first time to see the ocean and she didn't want to leave! Titus enjoyed feeling the sand but amazingly didn't try to eat it. Kale'a is a great little traveler but Titus gets lonely, so the drive would go much better if one of us sat in the back seat with the kids. We arrived back in Flagstaff in time for a little more snow to start of the new year. :)
Early mornings cuddles
His shirt says "Raised by Mom Elves" and Caleb assures me this means Middle Earth elves, not Santa elves.
Oh, chadster... If only he had qualified for the Women's Olympic Gymnastics team... Although, I guess they did pretty well for themselves without him...
The second family picture is a far more accurate representation. :-)
ReplyDeleteLack of chaos can be peaceful and fun too :-) Hard to beat the sunny beach! Ours actually went quite well considering the numbers and space!
ReplyDeleteHow. In the world. Is Chad. Doing that?!?
